Reset. Recharge. Rise.

Reset. Recharge. Rise.

That was the theme of our recent 2026 Quest for Success conference—and it captures what many organizations need after years of change, challenge, and reinvention.

Why This Message Matters Now

Over the past six years, The Partnership for Excellence (TPE) and the broader Baldrige community have navigated major transitions. COVID-19 moved us into a virtual world and paused many activities. The national Baldrige program then began a reimagining process to improve and streamline its work. This past year, the Alliance for Performance Excellence and the Baldrige Foundation assumed operational responsibility for the national program. Most recently, a new Baldrige Excellence Framework was released, with maturity pathways designed to meet organizations where they are. All of these changes have had an impact on TPE and the work we do.

During periods of turmoil, it is easy for people and organizations to lose sight of what matters most. A reset creates the space to reconnect with purpose, restore discipline, and move forward with intention.

Reset: Return to the Fundamentals

Just as we reset an electronic device to clear the data and old information weighing it down, we sometimes need to do the same for ourselves and our organizations. That means returning to systematic approaches, aligning with our mission and values, and recommitting to discipline and consistency. Instead of reacting to the chaos around us, we can stay focused on organizational needs and strategic objectives. Even high-performing Baldrige recipients sometimes need to pause and return to the systematic processes and discipline they demonstrated when they received the Baldrige Award.

Recharge: Renew Energy and Purpose

When we return to the basics and refocus on what matters most, we often rediscover excitement, purpose, and hope. Energy builds. People rally around the mission. Culture becomes tangible again. This is how organizations—and the people within them—recharge and get back on track.

Rise: Turn Focus into Results

When people and organizations reset their focus, realign their actions, and recharge their energy, outcomes begin to rise. Performance can improve. Morale can increase. Expectations can grow. Most importantly, organizations can become more resilient.

When It Is Time to Begin Again

Perhaps your organization is launching an enterprise-wide software platform, adapting to rapidly changing technology such as AI, or recovering after a natural disaster. Disruptions like these can pull attention away from established priorities and practices. The next time that happens, remember the path forward: reset, recharge, and rise.
