Congratulations to TPE’s New Board Chair

The Partnership for Excellence (TPE) is pleased to announce the election of Pam Jensen as chair of the TPE Board of Trustees. Pam has been an active supporter of TPE and previously served the board as vice chair and secretary. Her substantial contributions of time and expertise have played a key role in TPE’s growth and development. Effective at the beginning of 2026, Pam will assume leadership of the TPE Board of Trustees, becoming the first woman to hold this position.

Pam is an accomplished health care executive with over three decades of leadership experience, including roles at two critical access hospitals and one rural hospital. She possesses more than 20 years of involvement with Baldrige as a national examiner, and TPE applicant, examiner, judge, and board member. Pam played a pivotal role in guiding ProMedica to achieve the TPE Governor’s Award for Excellence in 2020. She recently served as vice chair of the TPE Board of Trustees and serves as a mentor for Communities of Excellence. Her previous appointments include President of the Hospital Council for Northwest Ohio, and she currently serves as Principal of Proven Results, LLC. During her tenure at ProMedica, Pam held positions of Vice President of ProMedica Senior Care, President of ProMedica’s Ohio regional hospitals, and Senior Vice President of Flower Hospital. In 2023, she received TPE’s Frank J. Perez Leadership Award, which honors outstanding individual leadership in performance excellence by a TPE member.

As Pam begins her term as TPE Board Chair, we asked her to share a bit about herself and her goals as TPE Board Chair. Following are his responses.

What experiences led you to the role of TPE Board Chair?

All of my experiences in learning about Baldrige and high performing organizations, particularly as an examiner and an applicant have led me to this.  I love being able to serve the organization.

As the incoming TPE Board Chair, what accomplishments do you hope to achieve in the next couple years?

During my tenure as TPE Board Chair, my expectations are for TPE to expand its applicant pool and to elevate the knowledge of Baldrige through training, the Quest for Success annual conference, examiner experiences, etc. This would help TPE more effectively achieve its mission to cultivate organizational performance excellence and continuous improvement in Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Illinois, and Western Pennsylvania.

What encouragement/advice would you give organizations thinking about starting their Baldrige journey and becoming engaged with TPE as an applicant or in some other capacity?

Just do it!!!  Attend TPE’s annual Quest for Success conference to learn more about Baldrige and performance excellence, and to network with like-minded professionals. Become an applicant through TPE’s onboarding program, Advising and Partnering. And visit an award-winning organization to see their best practices in action.

How do you see the Baldrige Excellence Framework providing value to organizations today?

I see the framework as a guide for role model leadership.  Using the framework to "assess" your organization can open up opportunities to get a holistic systems view of how your organization operates and how it can improve.
